Was very excited to turn over what I thought was a cheap Rogers silverplate dish to see the word sterling underneath! I have never seen real Rogers before, so used to plated! $1.91 at GW.
Great find!! They did make some sterling but there are many various "Rogers" companies. Some are related one way or another and some are using the name with permission. I think your find could be from "International Silver" as they used Rogers marks. It's a bit complicated but if it's marked sterling, that's all that matters!! I have some early Rogers coin silver spoons myself. Research the mark and you should get a idea of timeline.
A quick search, all I got was if it was from after the IS merger, it is post 1898, otherwise before. Any good sites to research timelines based on patterns? I'm not able to find much from the mark. Perhaps that 55A underneath though? I shall search some more!
By the looks of the pattern, the mark and the piece itself, I think it's from the 1920's - 1940's. Just going off of what I know and have seen, (and purchased my self) and other similar pieces.
