4 week drought is over SLQ, Buffalo, "V " and Wheats

Its been 4 weeks since I last dug a silver coin. ( No. 57 )
Went over to The Picnic Grove today.
The last 4 trips over there all I have to show for my efforts was a 1897 I H and a lot of trash.
Been wondering what is going on with the machine, been doubting it til now. ( I knew she would come through soon )
2 minutes into the hunt I pull out a 1925 Wheat ;D ;D
Dug a bunch of trash and a coin here and there until I got this solid
quarter signal at 6 inches. I figured it would be a silver Washington. To my surprise it was a SLQ ( 1919 )
About 18 inches over I pulled a 1920 Buffalo Nickel at 4 1/2 inches.
The about 3 feet away I dug the 1902 " V " Nickel.
On the way back to the car I got 2 Quarters and called it quits.
In all I was there for 2 hours
and had some fun.

I feel your pain, I haven't hit silver outta good ol' topsoil in well over a month(I have hit a couple out of "the lake"). I'm at 54. Hopefully we get our hundred.

I don't have any of those coins - except the wheat. Glad the drought is over for you!

That beats trying to dig through old alleys any day. ;D

Very nice finds !!!! What are those shell casings I have found several of them. What were they used in a rifle or a pistol. Congrats on a great hunt.

Looks like your picnic grove is paying off bigtime for you! Great finds, I would love to find any one of those coins. Do you clean your nickles or leave as is? HH Tom

This Picnic Grove has been the BEST PLACE to hunt. I first hunted it back in 1986 - 87  Was good to me then. Got my oldest coin from it. 1821 L C
This is the first SLQ from there.  In all I have pulled out 40+ silver ( No Seated , Yet ) in all 60+ keepers IH, Buffalo, V Nickels, Probably
over 150 Wheats too There is a lot more too be found.

The nickels:
I just cleaned them with water and a small toothbrush

Thanks  again all
