40 Fish Hooks, Platinum, Silver & Gold Ring #11

Hi Folks,

I found a tot lot in Little Rock that I have never hunted
It is a small neighborhood park that is along a Creek.

I started huntin tha tot lot and started findin fish hooks.

I concentrated on getting them all out of the tot lot. That
was all I cared about.

Most were in this small area,

But a few were scattered all over the tot lot. When I got
through, I counted 40 fish hooks.

I was almost through. At the very end, and behind the
swings, out comes this 18k gold and platinum ring.

That floored me folks,

That is my first platinum ring, and my 11th gold ring for
2009 all rolled into one... lol

It is not that big but it weighs a heavy 10.6 grams,

I showed my find to a guy. He was all excited and
wanted to buy a MD.. lol

He threw a quarter down and said here detect this.

I could only get about 7inches with my Compadre.

So, I threw the gold and platinum ring down and
was getting 10 inches plus. I told him that I would
rather have tha ring than the quarter.. lol

He said he would too.

Those fish hooks may have been put there by a sicko

I would seriously notify local law enforcement. There's been MANY instances of sickos putting razor blades,broken glass,needles and fish hooks in tot-lots.

wow thats scary great job gettin all those hooks out, I have a tot lot here I found 71 nails in all buried under about 2 inches of sand all over the lot , cleaned em all out went back about a week latter an found almost 40 more I talked to one of the park workers an showed him all the nails, long story short they found a local neighbor was doing it because he didnt like how noisy the kids where when playing ......scary stuff

The Metal Detector Gods are smiling.

I thought it may be platted.

So I took it down and had it varified.
He had to check it. He said they usually
spell the word out, but he has seen them
like this before.

Plus, I tested the gold, it is not platted,
and it is 18k gold.

So, that was good news.

That means that this is an expensive ring.

I would like to find the owner.

It has a touching inscription on the inside.

I think it has been lost for years. It was
deep and grass had grown all over it.

But I am pumped.

So, no bubble burstin allowed.... lol

I would agree, notify the aurthorities on this. Seems like some fruit loop is out to hurt kids. I think your reward for cleaning the lot was that lovely gold ring

Way to go on cleaning up those fishing hooks! I agree, your reward is the ring for sure. You certainly earned it! This is the type of thing that makes all of us proud. Too bad others don't realise the good that we often do to help clean up the trash and keep kids safe.

You guys have me convenced.

I have to do something.

Vandels are doing this, I think.

The people I talked were complaining.

I try to keep all the tot lots clean.

I think a heads up to the local police about your finds might save someone some injury in the future..

and I would go back there to see if you find more in the same area you were hunting( this way you might see if new ones are being dropped)......great job......

Great job, and a great community service (hooks). Nice ring too. But, have you ever thought about the close proximity of the creek to the tot-lot? When you were a kid, haven't you ever been going to your favorite catfishing spot in the dark and tripped on something ( besides your own two feet ) and fell, dropping your takle box, and it opened up and dumped nearly everything on the ground? Well, this may just be the case! Have you ever tried to find everything from that spill (in the dark), Hooks were cheep enough to not look for them all, and just buy more. Seeing as they all were in a small area, I think this is what must have really happened. I know that there are a lot of sick people out there in today's world, but I don't believe this was the work of one of them .............NGE
