I agree the numbers don't mean jack, but I'd like to know what they stand for just for the heck of it. I'd also like to diversify my sources of box orders; when two banks produce identical boxes with the same code it tells me they are getting them from the same place.

The first digit is the Repository Location, the second digit is always '0', the third digit is the bin they are taken from and the last digit is the employee's ID that guaranteed the box.

I know silver is the big thing in these, but has anyone ever thought about looking for some varieties in the half boxes? There's a number of various doubled die obverse and reverse dates to find.

Yes, some people do.
