From the land of the Bluenose...it was shocking to hear on the news last evening that an American sailor off the USS Doyle was stabbed to death in a downtown Halifax bar in a fight. Five were arrested...too sad for a port of call with a reputation for it's hospitality and such.

Shortly after this they announced at work that a flight was cancelled leaving 90 folks stranded in the airport. I was terminal patrol at the time and had to go to departures to assist with unrulely and upset passangers...not a fun time but comes with the job. Sure saw a lot of ugliness directed towards the airline staff with some words this bouy had never heard before being uttered. Airline was great I thought as all the would be passangers were given vouchers to stay at the Hilton, meals chits and best of all Tim's coupons.

Got up in a bit of a Kaffufle ( south shore word...lol) this morning and thought I'd go for a relaxing dig as the better half was off to a Pampered Chef party at her cousins. Hope she at least brings home a cheese knife. Anyway my first choice for a dig was the football field I had done the other day and wouldn't you know it my luck had run out as there was a group of bouys kicking a ball around...the nerve of it youz!

Second choice was another field a good cast away and this I had to myself. Was a bitter day and the Niagara Nose was a flowing freely. Lots of woods around this one and Johhny White Pail and I had seen many a deer here in the past. Just the same you I was keeping the eyes peeled as I didn't want any buck to think that me furbee was this years center fold! Started hitting pennies right away and was a tad upset with what I saw...the ugly side of Nova Scotia! I guess respect and pride in one's school is not evident these days as was this "ungodly" mess.

Anyway got my fix of finding a key, clet and 51 coins @ $2.63.

Just a reminder that there is still time to enter the contest!

Hard to believe there's an ugly side to Nova Scotia. I thought it was beautiful!
Except maybe Moncton...?

Leslie your posts are always enjoyable. A bit of humor, a bit of philosophy, and lots of common sense.

The trash under the bleachers could have been photographed at almost every school here in the USA. People just don't understand self-restraint and common manners anymore. Such is the "anything goes" attitude.

Pity about the GI (American serviceman), but maybe he should have known better than to go to a bar in Eastern Canada. Seems some Canadians hate Americans. (Course, many Americans hate Americans these days, too.) More than likely, though, the fight had little to do with nationalities and more to do with a drug deal gone wrong, or drunkenness, or a girl...them girls can be real trouble starters. LOL

Nice bunch of coins you got there. Congrats.

Oh, if you wonder why I intruded on the Canada forum, I saw your thread and wanted to read it because I enjoy your stories. Hope I didn't upset anyone (Canadian) for entering this place. If so, I apologize.
