Worth? Don't worry about worth. The thrill of finding a gold coin is invaluable. If it were me I would never think about selling it. It would become part of what I am and would be passed along to one of my kids. Monty

You've read my mind, Monty.

It would be tough for me not to sell it. I do prefer to keep the coins because that is what my grandpa did. He used to have books and books full of mercs. But i could buy books full of mercs with one of those babys. I don't think I would want just one of those things. I would want a collection of them and how often does one find one of those? Sounds like a once in a lifetime thing to me.

I'm digging more pulltabs/nickle signals this year in search of my first buffalo (one of my goals for 2007) but I will take one of those instead.

Congrats

OH MY GOD!!!!! I would be laying there dead but a smile on my face if I found that. Congrats what great feeling that must be.

Roger that. But the mortician would have a hard time wiping the smile off my face.

Very nice. $250 or thereabouts Skrimpy (if that's an "s" mintmark I see.) Don't say "dug" or the price drops 30% regardless of condition. ::)

fd, I'm so hooked I even get excited when I am only finding clad! But every once in a while I will get tired of digging pennies and discriminate them out. It's all good to me. Monty

Boy, I've never found a gold coin. But, I take soltice from the fact that 99% of us never do or will! I'm proud to know you did and have chosen to share the pic with us! Great job and may you find ten thousand more!

Can there ever be a bigger thrill than that? You've found what most of us will only dream about -- congrats!
