They're calling for snow again so I thought I'd try once more around
my "Relic Mansion". But, this trip was to be different. Follow along.

I was moseying along and got this semi-decent nickel type hit. I dug
but all that popped out was this piece of wire. I said, hmmm maybe,
but this was too good a hit to just be a piece of wire:

2015 (43).jpg
2015 (44).jpg

Just below where the wire was, this was hiding.

Now, remember, this is my "Relic Mansion". I dubbed it that after
coins became next to extinct here. LOL

Anyway, after that I was pleased-as-punch! Just starting and I ALREADY
had a COIN! :) The rest of the time would go much easier.

I patch the hole and move less than 4 feet when I got this wonderful hit. Solid,
not too deep, repeatable and fairly high on the VDI.

But, I have found, many, many, many "good" metal hits here. So, I wasn't prepared.

2015 (42).jpg

WHAAA?? I mean, sure, this place is old enough and sure I've already found a few here. But,
I didn't expect to see one so close to the Buff I guess. :dontknow:

2015 (37).jpg 2015 (38).jpg

I looked back at the other hole, 4 feet away and said, Strange coin spill! LOL

How is it that this coin has a date and the buff doesn't? Didn't they learn anything
about making coins in between ? :dontknow:

But, guess what? I didn't know it, but I wasn't finished!

I moved less than 4 feet further and got this wonderful, shallow, perfect clad quarter
hit. I have found some of the lawn keeper's loose change from time to time, but, that don't count. ;)

I said, out loud, Oh GOOD! A quarter! That makes 3 coins in a row after about a week's worth of hunting
without a single coin here. I gotta admit I was pretty happy even though I was expecting
one of those brass washers again. LOL

Little did I know:

2015 (45).jpg

Silver!?!?! :happy2:

YES! But not just a silver!

AAAHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh..........................!!!!

Ain't life grand? :)

Oh yeah, there were actually some relic thingies too. :)

All in all, a pretty nice day. Even if I do say so myself. :)

Hope everyone's day was as nice as mine.

Thanks for stopping by.

Great saves! I can tell you're attached to your Relic Mansion like I am to my LC Farm. It just soothes the soul to be out there swinging your coil. Loving the relics and grateful for the occasional coin finds. That Barber is SWEET! As you clean out the relics/iron more coins should turn up! Great hunt and big CONGRATS.

The only thing that Blingie cares about is the "shiny, shiny!" LOL

The coins? Ya see? If they're there, even this ole clad hunter can turn into an actual detectorist. ;)
But, the spot I pulled them from would make even the most experienced cringe. There was a bit
of skill involved in prying these loose from that mansion. LOLIf they arn't there ya can't findum.I hear ya,on the chatter.some places give me a earache:)

I should've posted the garbage from this short 4 hours. But, I had to empty my trash bag 6 times! LOL

Thanks George, maybe we can get together when it warms up.
Very true.If it isn't there you can't find it.Some places give me a earache sometimes:) But allot of chatter means allot of occupancy. Its is really hard sometimes, but finds like that make it all worth while. That place might have allot more to offer Whadifind.Old blingie liable to be chasing his tail over that one:laughing7:

Thanks for all the kind responses, folks!

A day like this has been a long time coming. Especially at this mansion!

I was hoping not to cause too much grief amongst those are ice bound. But, I just couldn't
contain myself! :tongue3: This was just too much!

Again, thanks!
Wow! I'll say. You had me pretty well convinced the mansion was target poor! It goes to show ....we never know! Congratulations and God Bless ya, Al.:hello2:

Yeah baby! It's always bewildering and exciting to find a few coins at a spot you have pounded to death, especially when they're quality coins. My first Barber quarter was an 1898, yours is nicer!

Don't get me wrong, this place will NEVER be target poor. Just very coin shy. As far as clearing the trash enough to get to the "goodies", that is always a possibility in any place. But, you see, I skip very, very little of the so called "trash". I've been in there for almost 2 years and I have only 4 silver coins from there. They are either deeper than I can reach, (and yes, I recognize that even an AT-Pro has limits ;) ), or in a combination of soil/trash/interference that is keeping them well hid.

But, that is all part of the plan. Since I can hunt all I want, I'm in no hurry. I can take the ground apart, piece by piece! LOL

The place is target rich, just most of it is relics & or clutter. After all, the ground has been there for a very long time and it is absolutely
rich with history!

Thanks again!

Thanks Breezie!

Yeah, lots of Barbers turn up on this forum but every now and again, one comes out looking like this. I took the
close up to point out just how special. Looks like somebody deposited this one in the ground, straight from the bank. :)

Take care!

An LC, buff nickel, and one heck of a detailed lovely lady Liberty! Awesome! Congrats!

Are you sure Blingie isn't bribing the worms to bring a few of those coins up closer to coil range?

Trash hides a lot of good stuff! That's why you need to post pics of the trash, so newbies KNOW what they are going to have to dig to get the good stuff! Ya we all know what trash looks like but 6 pouches worth "proves" what we are up against!
WTG! Hanging in there!

At some point the tundra here too will thaw!.....I can hope! Lol!
