Well not me, exactly. My dad took a walk in the woods, slightly outside of town the other day, when he said he saw a "foundation" or two. I decided to take a walk back and check it out today. What I discovered is what I believe to be a trolley station.

This old cement structure is about 100 yards long and has a stairway in the middle and on the sides. Not sure if the trolley would come above the stairs or below the stairs, though. Notice the stairs

In front of the structure or station is a stacked rock/brick foundation. Here are some pics of that ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809080.727232.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809101.246789.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809111.297828.jpg

There is another weird above-ground structure behind the station. Not sure what this was. It has threaded iron beams coming out of it ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809193.476531.jpg

Right beside the station I saw what looked like a little cave, but after a closer look, it looks like it could've been a cistern or outhouse kind of structure. I crawled inside it and it is very neat! It's about 6ft by 6ft with brick walls and a cement ceiling ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809363.349286.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809381.686434.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809390.119801.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1421809429.225229.jpg

I took a look at some old maps and on a 1924 map of my town. A large building, "the station" is right in between two rows of trolley tracks. There are also many tiny foundations above the station. Overall, a great find and I can't wait to get out and detect it!!!

Let me know what you all think about this and any other ideas of what you think it could be!!! Thanks for looking! GL and HH to all!

Lots of people frequenting that area close to 100 years ago... all of them carrying silver coins.
I expect a very frutifull hunting ground under all that snow. Can't wait to see the finds you pull out in the Spring!

might be a old train station --- train stations were often built up in height to assist in loading cargo onto the railroad box cars so that the boxcar doors lined up even with the :loading" platforms -- passenger trains same way

Now when I was a kid that place would have been a killer find. I can just imagine the fort we would have built there! If nobody has found it in the past and metal detected there you could have yourself a nice little honey hole.
