went to the back area of our farm today and walked a few rows of a freshley plowed and planted cornfield. found lots of flint chips and flakes and this one piece that was broken. It is a different kind of flint than what I have been seeing. I thought it was just dirt on it but when I washed it off it is speckled, not just on the outside but all the way through. The edges seemed to be worked thin and the base and tip are broken. (victim of plow) The other piece I found in the creek in a washed out bank close to where I found the banded slate bar weight back in the early spring. This creek is just below an old Indian campground. It is a pretty colorful stone with a hole in one end. Can anyone identify it for me? Thanks for looking.
