A Couple Colonials (Oldest Coin Yet 1694!!!)

I got out today with a couple buds for what I am sure will be one of the last hunts of the season...getting cold. We had permission to hunt a yard where a 17th century homestead had been. I didn't do too bad. The green coin is a George I penny (edit: ID'd by Don and confirmed to be a 1694 William and Mary half penny) and the other is a George II (1749) penny. As usual the gound wasn't too kind but they look much better in person and the Geo.II should clean up nicely.

Also found a handfull of musketballs and a colonial shoe buckle. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Don...closer inspection shows it to be a 1694 William and Mary...my oldest coin yet!

Good way to be finishing the year. We still have a chance of the odd nice find, fingers crossed.

I'm hoping for one more trip to finish the season...weather is still cooperating so who knows...
