I had asked about two detectors a little while back for salt water. I had an offer I couldnt refuse on a pretty new Excal 2. So i couldnt turn that down.

I hit the beach both in the gulf and the bay and I can say this thing is a pull tab finding beast. It was also good for screaming whenever there was a bottle cap under it. I pulled so many of both of them that I had to empty my pouch.

So the tally is...
2 new dollar coins (sac and pres)
12 quarters
5 dimes
5 nickels
21 pennies
2 sinkers
2 bracelets (junk)
5 game tokens (very new)
1 religious thing
Chunk of copper pipe
1 copper or brass weed pipe
And a lot of pull tabs. For the old ones to have been discontinued in the 80's I found a bucket load.

Don't dispair, you will get gold sooner or later. The first is the hardest.

I agree with the previous posts. The Excal is a water-hunting genius. It takes a bit getting used to the tones, but pretty soon that gold-ring tone will bark out at you and you'll be chicken dancing in the waves! Love the C-Clamp, by the way! I wish I could find some useful tools like that underwater!

You also found quite a nice selection of other keepers besides the pull tabs and the bottle tops.
Congrats on all the clad coins and the fishing sinkers too. When you find sinkers, you are at the
same depth that gold could be found.....won't be long and gold will be in your scoop.
Gold Nuggets :hello:
