Ouch, know that feeling! House here that was somewhere in that range that had passed for the last couple of years going to work. Never noticed that it was empty until the dozers came in and leveled it and scraped off the yard and took out all but one tree then graded the lot and now have it being set up for the main headquarters for the local electrical utility and their trucks. Makes you want to say "give me a little warning so I can ask for a hunt first"!

hunt it!
the dozer did the work for you, loose soil, easy digging
By the way, what's the building? almost looks like a mausoleum or a jail sweat box

Dozer can't be worse than a plowed field. Unless they hauled off a lot of the topsoil

I have no idea what that was for, they had a hole at the top of it.

It wasn't dozed they brought in a lot of phill. That excavator was for all the drainage and plumbing they were putting in.

I still haunted it but got nothing many inches of phill. They even feel the inside of the brick edges of the house with shells

That has happened to me many times after doing research on a site. Crappy feeling.
