The weather let up and melted off the snow so got out to my usual spot. And had a pretty good time. The 1854 seated dime is the first seated Ive found in a little over 10yrs of detecting. Its worn pretty bad, but I'll take it, and an 1854 in this neck of the woods is almost unheard of so it beat my previous oldest coin record too :o The foreign coin is an 1889 2 ore from denmark. Thought I had a two center with that one when it was dirty :laughing7: Thanks for looking and HH everyone

Love those "s" mint marks on the wheaties. We don't see many on the east coast. Congrats on the great seated dime!

You know its funny. My brother and I were just going through the coins we had found over the years last week and discussing that, because we noticed the vast majority of them were S mint marks.

Yeah I think its old too. When I pulled it up it had little bits of decentagrated metal in the hole with and even in the middle of it. Think some one wore it as a neckless with a real cheap chain.

Of course I can do it again!! In fact I'll have a gold coin instead of a ring and a half dime this time :laughing9: But seriously you know what I always say. I'll take a well hunted site and make it give me something, and by now as many times as I've grided it I would say its a well hunted site
