Hey folks, I've posted very little lately and have hunted even less. Today was unseasonablely warm so Damnails and I got out for awhile.
I found the usual junk and a handful of clad. I also found a few wheat cents and two Indian Head pennies. (1901@1893).
My best find and a first for me is this Chinese cash coin. It's in great shape and I have been trying to date it. I had know idea there were so many. If I figure out the year I will update here.
Hope all had a nice weekend and thanks for looking. IMG_20190106_084131839.jpeg IMG_20190106_140316586.jpeg IMG_20190106_140507516.jpeg IMG_20190106_145747934_BURST001.jpeg IMG_20190106_145804528.jpeg

Nice finds, ( Wish I could get out, grounds frozen here) Chinese coins aren't dated they go by dynasty but you should be able to a least get a date range.

Thanks. Yeah I'm learning that and I think I have the range but I'm not sure yet.

I have found those, and I don't know how to date them. That old place pictured should produce more old coins so go back there.

Okay, here is what I've found. It appears to be a "1 cash 1662-1722 Yunnan Province"
If it could only talk....

Congrats on digging that chinese coin Relic Nut. Yours is in way better shape than the one I dug, I cut right through mine back in 2016.

I bet that brought on a few choice words. Yours looks like it's the same one I found. I have learned a lot about them since Sunday. Had no idea there were so many kinds.
See you soon Bud.
