Greetings all,

I decided to try a spot today that I had only detected once before for a quick 90 min hunt and managed 3 decent coins in that time all within about a 15 ft radius. One of which is my first Newfoundland Large cent! The merc has nearly a full rim and barbers are of course always a welcome sight :) Thanks for looking and HH! :sunny:

Thanks everyone! I found out something kinda neat about the Newfoundland penny, only 200,000 were minted which is much less than what I had expected. Here's a little info on it...

Edward VII 1904-1909~

The reverse design was a slight modification of the Victorian reverse. Instead of the Imperial State Crown, it was replaced by St. Edward’s crown. The effigy of King Edward VII was similar to most Canadian coins of the era. The difference with the Newfoundland coinage is that the bust on the effigy is larger and the letter size in the legend is very small.

Both your dimes are in great shape, I was hoping they were "s" mints, but still nice coins!
