This hobby never ceases to amaze me.
ANY day out is usually a good thing.

Sometimes, the finds get ho hum, and boring, Nickel, Penny,
Dime, Quarter.....etc. etc....

But every now and again, we get a day that just keeps us
saying HUH? Wha? How? REALLY!?

I would gladly trade finding one nice old coin for one of
these sort of days. But....I gotta admit....they sure can be fun!

Let me start off by saying, this is a long story and I won't try to
shorten it.....too much. ;)

My first find of the day, the ground is super dry, the grass roots
are VERY dense, it's not too warm but man! Getting anything out of
the ground today was HARD! So, you might better understand my frustration
when, after a fair amount of time working on this plug, this rolls into sight:

2017 (315).jpg

That's right folks! A PLASTIC bottle cap!!! :BangHead:

I commented plainly and right out loud, uncaring who heard, "HUH!?!?! ??? "
What they do? Put a new foil liner in these things!? :dontknow:

I go to put it in the trash pouch and lo and behold.....

2017 (316).jpg
2017 (317).jpg

Wha...... ??? New .......fad? Coin holder? LOL

Next....I dug this piece of .......whatever up from 5 VERY tough inches deep.

2017 (318).jpg

Now....I ask ya. If you saw that come out, what would you be thinking!?
So, I happen to flip it over before putting in the trash pouch:

2017 (319).jpg

??? Who woulda thunk it!? LOL

At least the next one was a bit of a pleasant surprise:

I'm going along amongst a fairly large penny spill. So tired of pennies!!!
But, I just can't resist them. :dontknow:

Anyway, this one just would NOT let me find it! I was so frustrated I ALMOST stomped
the plug back in the ground and moved on. Might be a good thing to count to ten when
frustrated. ;)

2017 (320).jpg
2017 (321).jpg
2017 (322).jpg

This next tiny little medal surprised me. I didn't
get a pic in the field as the evening shift of the miniature sports
people started showing up and I just grabbed and skeedaddled.

2017 (325).jpg
2017 (326).jpg

The lil pieces next to it came out of the same plug. :dontknow:

So, anyway, I am pooped, the place is getting busy, I said, OK Lord,
I give up...it's been fun, but I'm gonna dig just this last hit and I'm outta here.
I flip over the plug.........

2017 (324).jpg
2017 (323).jpg

Go figure! LOL

All in all, a very interesting, albeit tiring day.

2017 (328).jpg

I am pooped! But, I do have to say, I did enjoy it all. :)

2017 (329).jpg

Seems like lots of smiles all the way around.

So, I'll wrap this lengthy post up.
Thanks to all those who made it this far and enjoyed.

2017 (327).jpg

Remember to check those new coin holders! LOL

And thanks for taking the time to peek.

Nice finds. I hate large penny spills and not being able to find a beep in the hole. You overcame and got the goods. Mission accomplished. :icon_thumleft:

Reminds me of when I dug a plastic film roll canister and found coins stashed in it.

Nice job on the silver jewelry! Those three digs are really nice. The two quarters in the plastic bottle cap were hilarious. Way to go!

love the ring, nice variety of finds. usually when I find a ring on my last hole, especially a silver or gold one, it means another hour of digging. something about silver and gold re-energizes me to keep on digging
