Do those of you who detect in a little deeper water find having a wooden handle to be a big advantage? I would think maybe having the handle float would be handy.

I like the wooden handle on my 720i, and seriously dislike the metal handle on my RTG. The RTG is built like a tank, but let go of it in chest-deep water, and you are dicked. I've seen a lot of guys who zip-tie pool noodles on theirs, and so on, but with a wooden handle, you wont have to mess around like that. My next purchase will be the carbon fiber handle form Sunspot, and I hear they float even better than the wooden handles.
