Muriatic Acid as Steve suggested in the linked thread would work, but I'm a firm believer in cooking the coins if they are of a high grade silver. Mr. Douglas Armstrong of Conservation Research Services recommends the same when it comes to high grade silver.

Thanks Diverdown, I believe i found the site for CRS you mention,
it is full of great technical info, and they offer to perform the services also.
I believe that all i want accomplished is to remove the surface encrustation.
