Hi All,
I understand this is a little off topic,
but I see that this forums posters get a lot of saltwater silver and may not see my OP,
I recovered an encrusted Pine Tree shilling and hope to hear some advise
on methods or trustworthy companies that can remove this matter.
See my post here: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,454983.0.html
Thanks for looking and happy hunting to you !

Muriatic Acid as Steve suggested in the linked thread would work, but I'm a firm believer in cooking the coins if they are of a high grade silver. Mr. Douglas Armstrong of Conservation Research Services recommends the same when it comes to high grade silver.

Thanks Diverdown, I believe i found the site for CRS you mention,
it is full of great technical info, and they offer to perform the services also.
I believe that all i want accomplished is to remove the surface encrustation.
the info for that process is on this site. http://nautarch.tamu.edu/CRL/
Great lead, much appreciated, Herbie :notworthy:
