BTW, Whatever you do, do not clean the white chalky coating off your civil war bullets, it is desirable patina. Wish i would have known that when I dug my first one
Nice collection. The one shotgun headstamp that I can read is the U.M.C.CO New Club and that one is 1901-1910. That's a nice old find! I really like the old headstamps.
I found my first merc in a pile of old shotgun shell backs, woulda never found it if I hadn't dug them all. I imagine some hunter blasting away and accidently pulling the merc out with a handful of shells .
Hello, looks identical to the plastic box I used when was new to detecting. Let me tell you, if you stick with it and have patience, you will find things that are really amazing. Better than you thought was buried in the ground. Good luck in your adventure !
