adding your own long opinions...all of which will eventually be decided by your government, which is a political body, right?
We ,The People , will make the final determination . Won't be the first time WE sent mentally challenged wannabe rulers back to hell where they came from .

So Chad'....what other mentally challenged wannabe rulers (i guessed of America) have you sent packing?

There are only 4.5 million NRA members in a country that has 90 million gun owners. If all these joined the NRA what do you think they would do. We would have so much clout they would be sorely afraid to pass any laws regarding guns. Our best hope of retaining our rights is to join the NRA. If this gun control legislation passes, lets make it known that there will be a thorough house cleaning next election. Good Luck. rockhound

NRA? DON'T think so; you KNOW what they say about lobbyists... VOTING does seem to be an option... BUT! Isn't THAT... POLITICAL?

Lol, i don't "bash Americans"! It's against ToS ;) All i do is have opinions on an open forum!
Where have i ever portrayed Brit's as rulers of anything...that isn't historical fact?

You're letting your annoyance dictate your posts mate.

The right to own a gun is an American tradition as well as a duty, after all the most important reason for the second amendment is to keep the govt. in check........to chip away at the second amendment is to take us on a more and more direct path to communism. We as Americans are an exceptional people who have been guaranteed the right to own a gun (other than felons, and unstable people) along with this guarantee comes a responsibility to protect the constitution and to protect the best country on earth from allowing a tyrannical govt. from ever being. A govt. should be afraid of it's people, not the people afraid of the govt.! Us true Americans know exactly what I am speaking of.

I am seeing a LOT of talk about keeping the Govt in check and avoiding a tyrannical Govt.

What happens every election year? Do we not have the right and ability to change the very Govt that holds policies that we do not agree with? The way I see it, this system essentially prevents tyranny or excessive power from ever becoming a reality. Does our system of the 3 branches of Govt not have checks and balances built in to prevent tyranny?

Just because you do not agree with what the Govt is doing does not automatically mean they are a tyrannical Govt.

AFRAID to pass any laws? Sounds like something straight out of Nazi Germany.

You are right the govt. is supposed to have checks and balances....But how many times has the president gone around congress with a executive order? Immigration quickly comes to mind! How about Obamacare? First they claim it is not a tax just a penalty then in court they claim it is a tax.....dishonesty quickly comes to mind. how about the drilling moratorium in the gulf, oh and the blocking of the keystone pipeline, as well as all these czars!!!!!! where have we heard about czars before? Communist Russia very quickly comes to mind!!!!! how about the statement by the king....errr I mean "president" saying the police acted stupidly when they arrested his professor buddy, then try to smooth it over with a beer summit. :BangHead: Oh and at both his elections he had "black panthers" at polling places. Just to make sure voters know just exactly who they will vote for. By threat of billy clubs. Hey those could be a assault weapon maybe we should ban those. Tyrannical no couldn't be...never :BangHead: :BangHead: must be all our "imaginations" :BangHead:
