Decided on just another high squeek type walk today. Not finding much but not caring either. More about the walk. :dontknow:

Got to about 2 hours and turned to head for the return trip back to the car.

2 - Hours - Later.....

Ya know.....sometimes....I wonder about Blingie.

0617201747~2.jpg

Now...sure! The spoon *is* very, very shiny!!
Still, its just a nice ONEIDA STAINLESS. :dontknow:

I think I'd much rather have what Fishy is quietly picking!

0617201748~2.jpg

Not only is it gold, its marked 18kt & plat!!
Heavy for its size too!

I was just checking high squeaks but this one came in at an insistent 65 so I dug.

Intuition? :)

Thanks for peeking!

Good call on digging the ring, that is a nice one! Looks like someone lost their coke spoon too. With my luck I would end up getting pulled over and be asked by the officer to explain why I have a coke spoon in my vehicle. There is no way he would buy the story that I just dug it up from the ground. Then I would have to wait patiently while handcuffed in the back of a police car while they searched mine for other suspect items.

Sorry but I gotta ask. Do you just have a great quarter to penny ratio where you are or do you just not dig the penny signal? Good luck.

Well....if I never dug penny signals. I wouldn't have found this ring now would I? ;)

But, its a fair question. The answer is yes, to both. More and more, people are carrying less and less coins in general. The ones they do carry are usually not pennies. Most of the ones I do find here are '80 on back.

But, that said, there are times when my "walks" are more about getting away from my depression than about finding. Those times are when I go for a "high squeek" walk. On those, I tend to not bother with anything that's less than 80, (unless, my partner suggests that I dig, like this ring.)

I know, passing up a *lot* of "good" stuff. But! I figure to be back there for a more detailed hunt. On those, numbers mean very little.

So....long way around....but do I dig pennies?

What do you think?
(BTB those, are just the ones that can't be cleaned!)

Cant wait until all the coins they carry are dollar coins! :tongue3:

Thanks for asking!

Couple of sterling spoons are used everyday, fork, and a couple of other pieces in our household.

Now I see there might be a little issue of Blingie having to haul that honking awesome piece of 18K/Plat. ring around.
Congrats to you! That's a keeper one doesn't see or dig often.:notworthy:

I usually don't but this one came out looking so nice! It was about 4 inches deep, who knows for how long. It was so shiny I thought it was silver! But it clearly says ONEIDA STAINLESS. Totally nonmagnetic. I wonder how long I should boil it to sterilize? :icon_scratch:

Thanks!

No, no, no. High 60's are supposed to be aluminum screw caps. I know this to be fact!
