Back in the 1970-80s I read an article in Treasure Search, or Treasure, not sure which. Anyway, the writer was searching for outlaw treasure supposedly buried in a cave or near one in the hills around Newburg Missouri. Don't know which bandits it belonged to but it was said that they hid in while fleeing the law. It could be true, but in the article, I believe they never found it. Newburg is an old railroad town in south central Missouri, nestled in a valley along Little Pinney River. It is surrounded by hills and forest. I plan to walk the tracks on good days this winter, maybe locate an old Hobo Jungle. This Town was quite active until the mid 1980s when the Burlington Railroad took over the Frisco Railroad, the life source of this town. Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised if the loot was still cached in those woods somewhere.
