I found this cuff a few years ago in southwest Georgia in a field where I've found points and tons of flakes. I've tried to research it but can't really find anything similar. It's nonmagnetic, it is tarnished but not rusted, there are no markings anywhere other than the designs, and it is basically exactly like I found it. No electrolysis or polishing have been done to it. It doesn't appear machine made because the designs aren't precise enough. Could it be a Native American artifact, Spanish trade, or dime store junk? Any ideas would be helpful. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

You would have to put it in the "What Forum"

THanks, rock, I did. Posted it here mainly because I found it in a spot where I find alot of NA stuff. It's the only thing I've ever found there that wasn't a point, scraper, or flakes.

Also posted it here because the folks on this forum generally are helpful, and many are from the Southeast, rather than the collection of turds that haunt some other the other forums.

The connected circles look like the Ojibway symbol for the "Four Circles of Hollow Water". A kind of Canadian aboriginal recovery ideology.

Try using your metal detector in the same spot that you found this item in and see what else might turn up that can be dated. Good luck!
