All of these were found on a high spot not far from a water source ( little underground streams).

Cool! I have noticed when hunting they seemed to pick the highest ground to camp on for their homes. I guess that is so they could see from all directions.

I think you have a point there- I think I have at least 200 pieces that were found in that area.

Nice stuff for sure.. good assortment. Scrapers, blades, points a drill.. I'm not very familiar with your area but judging by the stemmed points and the type of blades I would say most of that is archaic.that is except for what looks like a fluted point top center. please tell us what you already know so we dont start too far back at the begining.

That's what I'm thinking- been on the net and it's pointing to mid to late archaic- I'll post more tomorrow- I also found a couple of bannerstones but only found half of each one - thanks Gatorboy

I'm thinking that you have at least one piece that predates archaic. The fluted one as Gator pointed out. I'm thinking Clovis there. I do not know if this only happens to me or not, but I always mistake woodland artifacts for paleo. The styles of the two seem similar to me.

I'm thinking you are correct on this being archaic. It has no " ears" at the base like a Clovis. I'm not sure that is a flute or the color of the stone. I think this is a hafted blade or spear head. Half way up, it seems to sort of taper into a blade. Cool piece!

Thanks for the photos.. I'm out at the moment and only have my phone. That sure looks interesting. Hopefully one of the guys on here can give some info. Some of them are professionals when it comes to typology.. that's not me.

They do. I'm thinking this one isn't paleo. Don't run with that, however. Could it be a hell gap point? It is interesting!

It has some characteristics of Hell Gap- but I'm just not sure- but like you said " it is interesting "

If you have the time I suggest you post it by itself with a title that says point ID. Help. Then add where you found it. It will get more attention that way.

You found those a long time ago. What did the writing on them mean? If you can type your stemmers you will have the age.
