I saw this in an article on coinflation. It's a new one to me!

"He is also a history buff, who said one of his favorite eras is the “jazz age, the Great Gatsby era.” To David, this time period is symbolized by a 1922 silver wheat penny, which is made of authentic silver and not the copper and nickel metals used today, he said. "

Silver wheat penny? AUthentic silver?

ANyone know more on this?

I have had people insist they had silver cents, I told them there were zinc platted steel and silver ones were never made. One guy said he would prove it and he would get one from his house (I was at his yard sale) I asked him to bring out a magnet also. After a littlt wait he came out and apologised. He had "done the test" on his way out. :laughing7:
