You will have to go to lousiana or further to get on a Civil war battle sight, BUT- I have found civil war items at homestead sights. You can also find civil war forts, cannon placments, barracks, etc.. etc.. throughout texas (especially along the coast), with a little research.
There has also been found (shown on this sight) civil war artifacts in mexico lost by fleeing Confederate soldiers.
Crazy Huh?

If you stay in school and study the Civil War you will enjoy your Mom
and Dad or guardian's taking you to a battle site. Arkansas has a couple,
including Pea Ridge. If you study Texas history (guess they don't have
that at school anymore) you will learn about Texas Navy battles down
on the Gulf coast. If you post the area you live in Texas detectorists will
steer you in the right direction. lastleg
