The reason why I'm asking is because I'd like to do underwater metal detecting there.
There are old water detectorists and bold water detectorists, but there are no old bold water detectorists.I've heard they hunt detectorists because we have such oh so tender meat! JK, there's no more of an issue in OBX than there is anywhere else. Don't go out wearing a bloody fish suit and you shouldn't have any problems.
Is that sarcastic? Should I really be that worried? Sure I could encounter a shark but is it really that likely?Best of luck in your diving, detecting adventure.

I've heard that bull sharks are known to enter freshwater, but I never could have imagined they would go as far North as St. Louis.I read where sharks are the most feared animal in the world. I can see why as so much of the worlds population lives near the coast. An interesting fact: Bull sharks have been caught in the Mississippi River near St.Louis! Someone once said, “Nothing good comes from the water.” Beware!
