Rule #1 in being a prepper is never to discuss it. As some of already mentioned they dont need to prep just know who the preppers are. Trust me when I say this that plan will get you dead fast in a situation where you try to enact a plan to take a preppers cach. Survival of the fittest and if your plan involves attacking a prepper to take their supplies, youll be dead before you get within a 100 yards of their supply.

Food Toilet paper soap of any kind Alchol will be worth more then gold or silver in an economic collapse. These are some of the simple products that we take for granted but without them it would be hell on earth. If I can barter a way to wipe your ass, Wash your body, and drink enough to forget about the worlds problems, Thats worth 100 times any gold and silver =-)

I just love it when everyone thinks that precious metal will be the answer to everything. If and when there is a collapse your so called precious metal will also be worthless until the situation stabilizes :laughing7:

What do I mean :icon_scratch:

Simply put, it would be nearly impossible to put a value on a gold ring, any coin, etc... What do you do, cut off a piece of gold for a loaf of bread :dontknow: I'll agree that bartering will be the way to go for your needs, like an exchange for services for goods, or a direct swap of goods. Just save you so called precious metal for after the storm, then it may have value again at some point :tongue3:

A hoard of toilet paper is going to really slow me down on the run.

I'll take my chances with small arms and some escudos.

.... I have to agree with you kentucky..... Sounds like ..Jason.. will be nothing but a thief with the mentality of what's yours is mine and what mine is mine ...... I know i would not hook up with him ..... We should try to help one another if we could not steal from one another.....

You have to remember that Jason was trained by the Government and based on his comment was either in Iraq or Afgahanistan. The way he looks at this survival thing is different then those of us who have not had to fight to survive either as a individual or in a group. When the crap hits the fan people like Jason would be a great assest to a group. When the bad guys, gangs, mafia, or what ever wants you stuff, saying "please no that's all we have" will not work.

I think what you're missing is that, Jason IS the bad guys, gangs, mafia, etc. Did you read what he posted?

Possibly the new squirts need to remember that some of us old timers have a bit of "training" AND real jungle combat experience.

Again, I see things a little bit differently when it comes to combat and military training. Although it may be helpful in some open environments, it will really do squat in true city/urban environments. :laughing7: You already have small armies out there that have been trained in the street warfare since birth, true city rats. Just think, cities can't eradicate the rat problem now and then add those that have guns :laughing7: Eventually the goods in the city will run dry and those rats will infest other less populated areas. :tongue3:

Guess you never been around a group of pissed of rednecks who will defended their family and friends also just cause one has military training does not make him epically badass I was raised in the country I know how to live off the land and to defended myself with out modern weapons. I love our military and support them 100%
