IMG_0443.JPG Yesterday in Northern Pennsylvania I went to this older ladys home to do a possible cleanout of this ladys "Hoarders" collection. On the wall in the back hanging covered in cobwebs was this large Soilders Memoral print with hand written history of his duty and where he served. I fell in love with this. I expressed how I loved this print and she had told me it was for sale. After our long hours of talk, she had told me she had some more things in the attic that was her grandfathers from the war. She brought down more actual photos and his medals. All of this was from the Spanish American War and dated 1898-1899. We ended up just giving me these items at no cost, since I loved them so much. Im thinking of donating to a museum, or maybe something else. Any ideas on what these are possibly worth or rareity, or a place to donate if I decide to? Thank you.

Roger,
You have been given a rare and wonderful grouping of memorabilia. What makes it "valuable" is keeping it all together, and keeping all the history, (both what is there and what the lady told you.) I have my GG Grandfather's SpanAm memorabilia, and feel it is priceless. I believe you should keep it, however, LOAN it to a military museum for a while should they want to display it. Additionally, if you were to photograph each item and add the scans/copies to genealogy websites, you may make some descendants very happy with the information! Congrats on a very cool find. Sub

I agree with Subterranean's advice to keep them and lend them out to trusted museums. Definitely would be great on geneology websites! My sister has posted some of our best ancestral photos on such sites to share them. WELCOME TO T-NET & ENJOY YOUR TREASURE HUNTS! :hello: Andi

I would say to contact your local VFW or American Legion, they should be able to put you in touch with a local historian that can help you out. You've got a really nice group of items there and I agree it should all be kept together.
