Hello Everyone,

Today I had the pleasure of attending a club hunt at a local Boy Scout camp. The food, company and finds were wonderful. I managed to recover 106 coins (1 Mercury dime, 5 toasted wheat cents, $ 4 Q, $2.40 D, .15 N and 57 cents for a total of $ 7.17-face value) and some usual Boy Scout camp finds.

Thank you for looking.

How large of an area was it that you detected and how long did it take you to do it? Many camps are huge if you consider all the tented areas and just acreage of woods. Congrats on your finds, I might add.

Swaveab,

The place is very large. I only hit a few areas, much more to explore on the next hunt. We can only hunt the place once or perhaps twice a year per the camp rules. So for now, I will study the map and Arial views to plan my next hunt.

Nice hunt. Congrats! The slide is cool. Passed through Salina, Kansas a couple months back and donated two old neckerchief slides to the Boy Scout Museum. The good old days, back then.

Wow! Nice work POE. 106 coins. That involves a lot of digging. You were busy and I bet tired by the end of the day. I like the 1923 merc. Congrats on all those saves.

Hello Doc,

The last time there I found 5 slides...you never know! Some of the other members found multiple slides this hunt and some found large Boy Scout pins and a crossed double rifle pin.

Very fun time,

Doc

A2 Coins,

The camp has just Scouts as part of the name. In the pavilion area both male and female scouts were eating breakfast. The older relics we found had Boy Scouts written on there face!

Everyone was having fun and enjoying the camp atmosphere! :icon_thumleft:

Nice start on the scout camp. If your camp is anything like the ones I detect that is just the tip of the iceberg, not much silver, but lots of coins and interesting scout stuff. Keep swingin and keep us posted.
