Awesome Detecting Day!!!

Any day you can detect in Canada at the end of December is an awesome detecting day. We're still socked in under a foot of snow and ice but I was itching to swing the coil.

This is the view outside my bathroom window when I woke up...not too promising.



I checked the tide times and saw that low tide was at 1pm so I packed my detector and off I went. This is the area I was searching...a beach off the oldest continued settlement in North America...so I knew I had a chance.



Found a few modern targets and then spotted this right on the surface...



See it?



Copper doesn't usually fare too well in the salt water so I was happy to get any detail at all.





Also got a few eyeball finds including my first intact pipe bowl...just plain with no design but I'm still happy with it!

Great finds for this time of year. And don't feel bad guys I've been reduced to using my new pro pointer Xmas gift on random objects in my living room! We are getting hammered with snow and cold weather here in Maine. Another storm coming Sunday. Maybe we will have an early spring since winter came so early. One can only hope!
