Back To The Farm Where I Found The James Shell

Just got back from a trip to the farm where the James shell came from. No intact artillery shells this time but I did find a few goodies.

Got my first pulled bullet. A .69 cal three ringer.

Also got a fired .58 cal three ringer, a round ball, some more canister shot and a musket wrench. Plus, lots of shell fragments.
Not sure about the long narrow piece in the bottom of the second picture. It seems too straight to be shell, too thick for horseshoe. What do you think?

I hadn't either. It's another first for me. One of the guys I was hunting with IDed it. I was about to throw it in the junk iron bucket!

It's a handful of the artillery shell fragments I found on that trip..Some are pieces of nose cone and at least one ended up being a type II James shell fragment. I have since cleaned them up and the threads show nicely in the nose cone pieces but Ive only photographed the James frag.
