Banners and Gorgets

A few broken gorgets and banners from Snyder Co. Pa. Also 2 pipe fragments in lower right corner - darker piece is the small hole end of a tube pipe.

Never saw an unbroken gorget from my area, but did see a few unbroken pendants. saw a few unbroken banners from friends finds, but i only ever found one unbroken banner myself and it is very small - just over 2 inches.

even when excavating i found one banner and it was also broke, a half with repair hole drilled it it. 2nd from right - bottom row in pic. By the way this frame of arts, were excavated from in and around a fire pit -an area of about 12' by 12' in undisturbed wooded area.

I rarely come across a pc of gorget let alone a full one same with pendants all i have are pcs ..maybe if i get 2 diggers I will get one faster.

Nice finds. I find the brokes also. I only have one whole one. Have had a friend pick one up when hunting together. I found one just like hers but,, mine was broke in half.

Found in five pieces during xcavation with 2 or 3 pieces still missing. It is a perkiomen broadpoint
(knife) made of pa. rhyolite in new un sharppend condition.

Here is another Perk. of rhyolite. Here west of the Susquehanna we find perks in jasper and rhyolite. This, as is the other perk. is just over 4" in length but is a surface find from a corn field.

Mine was a creek find stuck between 2 rocks.
