Found this around an old house site, can anyone ID this more than just saying its a set of military wings ?
This is STERLING SILVER and clearly they were attached to something else, not found...
Why would they be made out of Silver ? Did the Military issue Sterling Silver Wings for any of their uniforms ?
I'm assuming these are Airforce ? But could be Navy ....
Thanks in advance.

Great find " Torrero ". Those wings are beautiful !!
Whenever I hear silver wings mentioned, I think of Barry Sadler & his song " Ballad of the Green Berets ".
" Silver wings upon their chest ", " Put silver wings on my son's chest ".

Your silver wings could've belonged to a Green Beret.
I don't know how far back they go. Probably before the Vietnam War. Someone might know for sure.
Thanks for sharing. Happy Hunting.

The wings posted by the OP is as mentioned are Army Air Corp wings from WW2.....Green Beret wings are "Jump Wings" or "Parachutist's Badge", here's a photo of one of several styles of Green Beret jump wings, this one is one of the most common..

Beautiful wings- I have a pair of the same wings
found at the housing project in Mobile Al.
The back mark is: K.G. LUKE, MELBOURNE
STERLING
I keep them in the pencil drawer of my desk which is a military desk.
Keep them as they do not make these any more.
