The Brooch was from yesterday's hunt were I found the 1796 LC.
When I dug it didn't think much of it.
It was covered in crud. So today before I went out again, I cleared my pouch, and gave that a rinse and oh my, this thing is nice..I thought.
So I gave it a quick brush with aluminum jelly, and more was revealed. I thought you guys might want to see it. Its a looker. Lol
As far as today, checked out a new colonial field. And yep there was some goodies, the coppers are pretty toasted, but thats what you get in the fields:-( Im able to make out a bust one the one. Just not sure who?
And also found my second shield rosette.
Thanks for looking.
George.

If you cleaned George up, put a funny hat and glasses on him... He could probably be the pope's double. Except he would have a digging tool instead of a septre

Maybe the accent would give me away??? Lol

Nice finds vino! The broach is beautiful but I like the pewter spoon....Its rare to find them almost whole like that! I have a wooden box full of pewter spoon handles and bowls but I have yet to find a whole one.

Nice finds .
I thought it was Broach, lol.

A brooch /ˈbroʊtʃ/ is a decorative jewellery item designed to be attached to garments, often to hold them closed. It is usually made of metal, often silver or gold but sometimes bronze or some other material. Brooches are frequently decorated with enamel or with gemstones and may be solely for ornament (as in the stomacher) or sometimes serve a practical function as a fastening, perhaps for a cloak.
The earliest known brooches are from the Bronze Age. As fashions in brooches changed rather quickly, they are important chronological indicators. Many sorts of European brooches found in archaeology are usually referred to by the Latin term fibula.

These were popular to bring back after a holiday/visit to Italy. I've always liked them, a good one with a good scene are expensive, that's why I've yet to add one to my collection of 'stuff I love'. I have a great appreciation for miniature craftmanship. I would be very happy with that as a 'free' addition!
