Got out yesterday to a old site that is littered with iron..I wanted to see if what i learned could help??
Its amazing..
I pounded this place for a year with about 4 other hunters..Lots of EMIs and bits of iron..I turned my TX down to 1..Sens.On 83..Reac. On 3 and silence. On 1..
When i got my first signal i took my time and dialed it in till i was happy with the response..
Anyway every coin i dug has iron stains on them, and gave a chop signal, with vdi numbers all over the place..Remember audio!!!!! If i was getting a chop high tone i dug..On about 4 of the coins i flipped the plug and nothing...Had to get down and dig more, then it would sound of again..
I know with the settings i had i was not expecting a lot of depth but i was surprised..Some of these coins were 8inchs down...
Enjoy the pics..
George

Nice Finds Vino! Looks like the Bootcamp helped you out! Amazing that you and others have pounded that place and now that you are understanding the full potential of the Deus you are able to pull out all of those finds! I have taken mine to places I have pounded over the years along with everyone else too and adjusted the Deus to the spot instead of using some random program and seen a big difference like you did! I think a lot of people rely on other peoples programs and its hurting them instead of helping them. Once you understand the settings on the Deus and what each one does and how it works with the other settings and just adjust them to the site your at you will have the best results.. just like you did!:icon_thumleft:

Awesome Vino. I am having similar results. Yesterday with the settings you PM'ed me I found a COIN within the iron beds. I cant even believe it. I found a shot william and mary hibernia halfpenny on a site me and my buddy hit with many detectors for almost a decade. Crazy! I mean there are quite a few signals. Got a couple beautiful tombacs too. Only had a few hours to fiddle.

Could I ask what discrimination expert option you use with these settings? I found the full tones to be the most comfortable to use with these settings. I turned the disc all the way down to zero so its pretty crazy sounding yet the high tones stand out. Im afraid to add any disc for fear it wipes out some of the weak deeper signals.

Yes, I dug one signal and there was a small copper relic at least 8 inches down right in the middle of the dense iron. If i hadnt seen it with my own eyes I wouldnt have believed it. Pulled 2 dozen more relics out of the site in a few hours. Wow.

Cant wait to get back out tomorrow!

Thanks!

Hey CP..Thanks..
As far as tones? It seems i cant get use to the full tones..I choose 5 tones..And set them to my liking..I use the same tones on all my settings..Just use to it..
As far as disc, It does not hurt the depth if you run it under 8.0..I do tend to keep it around 2.5 to 4.5..
In that iron the TX and the sens. Are the key..Keep it low and reactivity 3 or 4..
You have to check a signal first and see how it comes in..And go from there..
Also the audio have it around 3 or 4..
That way you can tell whats deep..

Thanks a lot. This DEUS is insane and I am blown away by this really. None of these signals really sounded worth digging but many turned out to be 200 year old buttons down deep. Just wild. Ive got so many old sites to try this out at and cant wait to go now. lol

Vino, my main question about your Deus is; were you using the 9" or 11" coil?

As a comment, I have used TX-1 and sense @85 for my jewelry settings. Like you, I found good targets as deep as 8+ inches.
The signal isn't as hard hitting as when TX and sense are high, but there's no mistake as to a good target.

The 9inch..Imo. The 11 can't pick through the iron as well..

George,
Glad to see your unlocking the potential of the Deus. I have had some pleasant surprises by experimenting. I am snowed in here so I envy you still being able to detect.
Still planning on getting together sometime.

Vino Brotha you hooked me up. Today with those settings I found an 1817 large cent, king george II halfpenny and 2 cut Spanish silver pistareens at a heavily pounded site (I have hit it many times every year for the last 3 or 4 years). Also got some buttons and relics too (loads of lead balls!). I cant believe this DEUS. Had to go to another site because hunters have leased the other site and told me to come back in Feb. I am worn out from the hunt today so will post a thread in the main section tomorrow.

Thanks man!

I was running in 18hz all day. Should i have tried others? I didnt even look at the VDIs because I dug everything. I dug DOZENS and DOZENS of signals. Must've found 20 pieces of lead alone. Ive not found the VDI to be reliable at all on the Deus. Not even with the regular programs. But that doesnt matter as a relic hunter who digs it all anyhow.

Yep..the vdi is not reliable. Its all about tones...If you were not in 18kh. You probably wouldn't have found them cuts..
I hardly ever use 18..Mostly 8 or 12..
There coming out with a new version using 4 thats going to be awsome..
Way to go again,, and i look forward to ur post tomorrow..

Vino, can you elaborate on this? A software update? Any other details?

Yes a update..They are working on the 4 freq..You will be able to change the tx power..and a few other things..
Thats what Andy was telling us.
It should be coming out by the first of the year or so.

Good info here. Its kinda difficult to not do well with a DEUS. Most people pick them up really quick. We have a few settings I ever adjust.
