Hey folks, I haven't done any serious digging in over a month. Just been to much going on. Today Damnails and I went for a hunt on some CW ground and it sure felt good to pull some history. I didn't set the world on fire, and won't make the paper but I am well pleased with the day. I was able to save two buttons that are in horrible shape, but at least I can tell what they were. Ground here is hard on buttons and they won't be around much longer. I found the back to a cuff button, and what's left of an Eagle I button. Also found several CW bullets, some melt, and a couple buckles. Sure felt good to be out digging again.
Thanks for looking.

Very Nice! That eagle infantry button certainly has a unique "seen the elephant" look about it!

What it has seen is many years in a feild full of sheep. It's like battery acid over time. But the bullets I find at this site are the prettiest white patina of any I find......go figure.

what determines a successful hunt is the satisfaction of what you have done in spite of circumstances, looks like a successful time to me

I'd take a hunt like that any day. Nice finds man. This was from my 6 hour hunt yesterdayIMG_1317.JPG The lantern piece was the highlight, lol

I wish I could find civil war bullets like that. I know they're around here somewhere in Tennessee but just don't know yet where to legally find them.
