It was a cold day but i went out for a hunt after work because a big snowstorm is coming tonight so it may be my last chance for awhile. The ground was ok to dig in some spots but mostly super hard everywhere else. I found a few random things but the better finds were a so so shape 1800’s police dome button and a nice old liniment bottle that i found in the same hole digging out the button. It says Bentley’s liniment but i never heard of that maker yet. Also my favourite find of the day is a great condition medium size crotal bell. It should clean up with a nice green patina when I’m done cleaning it up. I always like digging those. Any idea of the age? It has a longer top than the usual crotal bells i find. Thanks for looking and i’m lucky and glad to get out at all this time of year!

That is a big bell, and in great shape.
Glad you got a bottle out without breaking it. It is listed but no further information on it was available.
Congratulations

A lot of crotal bells i dig end up ringing when im done cleaning the dirt out. This one has the ball rusted and stuck inside for now but i think ill get it loose at some point. Ill hear it ring sooner or later! [emoji2]

Thanks. It was nice to get out for a hunt even if short lived. The lobster season is winding down big time now. It should be slow until it gets crazy again in April. The weather was hard on the season all this fall. Super cold and windy all the time. I hate the spring season though because its my favourite time of year for detecting but i work constantly! Good looking finds. Love the bell. The buttons and bottle are cool too, I think they got so much character.
