Hit the beach today trying to get a hunt in before the next series of storms hit our area. Weather held off just great and started rolling in just after I was off the beach so it worked out perfect. Only saw one other hunter out there who was working he dry sand with his AT Pro. I had the excal 800 (with OBN headphones on it) and spent most of the hunt in the water. First gold ring (10K Band) popped out about and hour or so into my hunt so I slowed down in that spot and sure enough, just 20 ft or so away were the next two rings (14K, one with 27 Diamonds!) in the same hole! Obviously part of a set as they fit together. Not a bad hunt!

I have had detector envy big time after seeing (and using) Max and Denny's CTX 3030's! Found 3 rings with that one at the land of nada but only one was silver, another junk and the 3rd was gold filled....bummer on that one but today MORE than made up for it! And even when I do get one (soon) I'll NEVER give up my Excals or Sovereign!

It could be some good Karma coming my way after the ring return I just sent off in the mail and hope to have some pictures back from the family so I can get the whole story posted here, I think everyone will enjoy it!

Here are the pictures and thanks for looking!

Wow great hunt! That thin gold ring is an impressive find, shows the value of a real salt water detector for sure.

3 gold rings is an awesome find congrats! Looks like you did a lot of scooping too!

That little band is really thin too, nice job.

Now if you will excuse me I have to wipe the drool off my screen before something bad happens, I'll wear a bib next time.

Yeah, can't really speak to the depth of the machine as it seems to vary but we have had alot of sand on most of the beaches this year and many tgts have been had to get to. I've been hitting some small aluminum pieces and brass (.22 and 9mm) that are pretty small buy ring up good so I can say the 8" coil does a good job of isolating the good stuff from the crap.

Yeah Denny, it does produce a bit in that area. Same place I found all the silver and a couple of the gold a few months ago. Kinda surprised me though, these must be recent drops as they weren't that deep and it seemed pretty sanded in. Not many of the rocks showing like it does when the holes open up. No good beach glass either, another indicator of how the hunt will go an if you are on the "old" stuff. Not much beach glass at all today and no old coins all clad.

Had it looked at at a local jewelery store I use and the diamonds are real but not valuable. Value is mostly in the gold weight unfortunately....

:BangHead: No what's unfortunate is that dealers lie to you, and try to low ball you so they can make a profit.... If the stone is less than .05 Carats yeah, its worthless.. If its as big as I think and around a Karat then a bad cut can sell for as much as $300 a carat and that is not a bad cut... I'd get a few opinions before you take the first guys word. I know he could be like a mechanic and you trust him and won't go to anyone else, but just humor us and get a 2nd opinion. :notworthy:

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Yeah, always on the lookout for that! It's actually a woman I know that works at the store and has always played it straight with me on value or if the stones are good. Looks pretty but you can see that the diamonds really aren't good quality but, there are a bunch of em! Gotta be worth SOMETHING eh?

Holy moly, that is super cool. Bet you didnt get up that morn thinking anything near that good was going to happen! Give it a shot on ebay, cant go wrong there on a unique ring like that diamond one. Probably get full retail on it if you wait for the right buyer to click that BIN button ;)

Nice finds Doc! Keep the Excal and Sov. I had that same CTX envy but just sold mine this week after using it for 11 months.
