That's one of the things I learned when researching platinum CW0909, catalytic converters have platinum in them, hence the thieves. I also read that the old time miners didn't know what platinum was, and tossed it to the side. Are there any other minerals that the old time miners didn't collect that we should or do?

Can anyone "break it down" to a novice, what platinum actually is, how it evolves, where it's normally discovered, why it's less popular than gold in jewelry- other than the allure of gold's beautiful luster, etc.
Peace

I'm glad you asked that CKid, that's what I'm trying to learn too. Wikipedia explained fairly well what it is, and how it's formed. And I Google Imaged it to see Platinum in it's native form. Other then that, you are all caught up to me CKid...lol.
I'm glad I did though, Platinum looks awfully a lot like Uranium to me.
