Re: "Big"inners Luck???

I just wanted to add that I found it 8" deep.

It was rusted real bad. I cleaned it with Olive Oil & a soft tooth brush.

I'm new to THin' so I really need help IDin' treasure or trash.

Thanks alot for any and all help.

It seems to be somewhat modern. The "Crimped" rings are pretty much a dead giveaway to it's age. It if were Civil War era, the rings would be smooth.

Re: "Big"inners Luck???

Nice find and great pictures. Thanks for posting them. As for the trash, I don't think a day goes by, when I'm detecting with my ACE 250 that I don't dig up a bullet or musket ball. It just comes with the territory. Keep at it, if your digging bullets at that depth the better finds will come.

Re: "Big"inners Luck???

I think the bullet is modern. My definition of modern bullet is anything 1900 and newer. By the depth and the color of the bullet it was there along time. Im hearing great things about the Garret Ace keep on diggin.

It's a more modern bullet. You see the rifling lines that run from top to bottom ? That is one way to tell. Maybe a .38 looking at the pictures.
