It's been a slow couple of weeks, haven't found anything...even pottery sherds are hard to come by lately. Maybe it's the tides and currents this time of year, I'm still learning the area.

Anyway, found this point this morning halfway between the high and low tide lines. Very, very happy with it.

Wow that’s right on the beach?

Yep. Many thousands of years ago, the coast line was much further out due to a lower sea level and there were settlements, camps, etc. miles out into what is now the bay. Currents, tides and wave action (especially storms), bring many artifacts back to shore. I've found these points over the past couple of months since moving to this area. I've also collected a couple of shoe boxes worth of pottery sherds. I usually find a point or some type of worked item every couple of weeks or so. Here is the beginning of my small but growing collection.
