Hi,
I got this dog at an estate sale (it was picked over and left for free), and it's been lying around since this summer. Someone suggested that it is an early Pfeffer Gotha piece, but in my searches I cannot find any Pfeffer Gotha pieces without some sort of stamped mark. It does have carved markings on the bottom - but no stamped mark. Specifically the carved numbers, "9438", the letter "I" below numbers, and also a number 2 stamped towards the right. It does look like the other German-made dog figurines that I've seen, but I wonder if anyone knows anything about it...? I realize that since the dog has been repaired, it really holds no value, but I'd like to solve this mystery before I put it into next summer's yard sale bin.
