Thanks guys. I'm from the Uk and was planning to find it on ebay but I can't read the maker. Its a surprise and I quickly took a picture of the back whilst she wasn't looking

It's definitely german, Bavaria is in Germany, do a google search for Bavarian porcelain and you should be able to find the mark www.pmm.com is a good place
