The company that manufactured the Big Bud back in '76 hasn't existed in decades. The company that manufactures current BH metal detectors (First Texas Products) doesn't have any information on the earlier BH machines manufactured by other companies, sorry.

There are metal detector fans who collect owners' manuals and perhaps someone will spot your post here and offer to send you a .pdf or a link to it online. If you don't get a response here you might try Carl Moreland's Geotech forums.

Akia, forum moderators ordinarily use stickies only for general standing notifications and to answer certain questions that repeatedly come up on the forum. Not a matter of money, but of what stickies are used for.

You could try posting your request for a copy of the manual in several forums that look appropriate for such a request, not just this one. It's not so much about Bounty Hunter (since the model is no longer manufactured), it's about "I have an antique metal detector and need the manual".
