I have a BH Lone star that I can't get to work. I hope someone here may have had the same problem I am having and can help. The problem is it won't turn on with the coil plugged in. If I I disconnect the coil it turns on, plug it back in and it goes back off. Now we have only used it a few times when it was working and have been careful with it so it hasn't seen any abuse. I do not have any other coils to try with it btw. Any ideas?

Possible bad coil or coil connection. Test it with another coil..

Yep. If the coil has water in it due to a seal leak, that can cause it, also. You can buy the 8" 6.6khz coils for about $35 new.

Sounds like a cracked coil, or broken ground wire in the coil wire up the shaft. Contact Bounty Hunter or First Texas Products or Fisher Labs. Its all the same,,,Lol
Good luck!
