If she starts with that thing she may not gain interest. Start her out with a new Whites Coinmaster, Fisher F2 or Garrett Ace 250.
Bounty Hunters are ok but you need a better model of one.

I have to agree, the quicksilver is a better machine.

Regardless of the claims that this is a midlevel machine the lack of a headphone jack is indicative of a entry level detector.

It's no secret that I am a Bounty Hunter fan but unless this detector is for a child I would pass on it and go with the Quicksilver or SharpShooter II. Both are reasonably priced and can be had even cheeper
on fleabay.
