Got a supprise box today. I was just hitting up some new banks and finding very few halves when my last stop of the day said they have a box they would let me buy. They said they order them frequently but the next time I would have to open an account. Well, my loose coins turned up nothing, but the box was good to me.

Awesome!!
I've noticed that alot of us have been finding 2000 and later halves.
I found a few last week in great shape.

Being a little new to the coin thing, what is the significance of a post-2001 half?

All halves from 2002-2006 were not released into circulation. They were only made for collectors and have a fraction of the mintage of pre-2001 years.
