Buffalo nickel worn mint marks

I recently got a dateless buff. I soaked I vinegar and revealed a 1918 date but just a little corner of the mint mark exists. I have seen a few examples of s mint marks that to me don't look l,e much . Here is an example : 1925-S Buffalo Nickel (XF 40) PCGS/CAC | eBay. I can post pics of mine if need be but you can't see anything more than this coin. How did a grading company label this coin s mint? You can't see any s......

The 'S' is clearly visible beneath the buffalo and "FIVE CENTS".

Exactly. Easy, you might be mistaking the designer's initial "F" below the date for the mintmark. The designer James Earle Fraser utilized an "F". Keep a lookout as there are varieties of Buffalo Nickels that do not have the designer's initial.

The Mint mark is on the reverse, below FIVE CENTS. Alot of people mistaken the F below the date.
